Ceramics

These objects begin with USGS public domain 3D data which I manipulate and shape into digital vessel form, and from there I make a 3D printed model. I then cast them in porcelain and glaze them (food safe!). They are intended to be semi-functional (serve a salad on Crater Lake!). They are not perfect but that is part of the process that I’ve been enjoying; the little imperfections and surprises (especially with the glaze dark arts).

This series is ongoing, currently based on volcanos of the Cascade mountain range and geological oddities of the west.
